A member of the ACSI discount scheme. We tried calling in advance but couldn’t get the call to connect so took a chance and just turned up.
Welcomed by a gentleman who gestured for us to wait a moment. Off he scuttled and returned with a fluent English speaking young lady. Booked in and walked to the far end of the site which was to be home for the next few days. She informed us that hot water in the showers and wifi were free.
On site is a small terraced café/bar/restaurant with outdoor seating. It has been said that they do the most delicious, homemade cakes. The cakes were sampled on our final afternoon, a table on the terrace with a delicious homemade strawberry and chocolate cake, washed down in the sunshine with an ice cold beer. Perfect.
The facilities are down an outside staircase underneath the café. There a separate rooms housing the toilets and showers. They are very clean and warm. There is also a dishwashing/laundry room with a €3 charge for use of the washing machine.
There is an accessible wet room for people with mobility problems next to reception. Reception sells an assortment of caravan related products including blue and pink loo and most importantly, beer. A baker, also delivers fresh bread daily to order every morning.
The site is set in a very peaceful setting and along with a bug hotel that was inhabited. Other nick-nacky bits adorn the site making it quite quirky. Hares can be spotted bounding around in the grass and wild flowers, one even walked past us as we sat out, who needs breakfast TV?
Pitches are level with EHU and fresh water taps located across the site. Recycling is taken to another level on this site with a coral of bins all clearly marked for recycling. Everything has a bin it can be put in.
A play area for children is near the main building. Complete with swings, climbing frame and slide and other bits and pieces.
The site is family run and also offer spa and massage treatments by appointment. With a price list outside their treatment room in the facilities block. Our ACSI covered 4kWh of electric per day after which we paid €0.60 per kWh, this was €3 per day extra for us but we needed our heater on in the evenings as temperature was unseasonably low. We paid €118 including electric and tourist tax for 5 nights. We would recommend this site and found ourselves staying an extra day.
Great read as always ! The first picture I almost took it for a English site… looks very much like one in this country! Keep up the good work
